Puppy School – Giving Your Puppy the Best Start in Life
Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting time, but it can also be a little overwhelming. Between toilet training, puppy biting, lead walking and trying to work out what's normal puppy behaviour, most owners have plenty of questions during those first few months.
At Murphy & Me Puppy School, we're here to help.
Our Puppy School is a fun and practical four-week course designed for puppies aged between 8 and 20 weeks. Using positive reinforcement methods, we'll help you build the foundations for a happy, confident and well-mannered dog while giving you the knowledge and confidence to enjoy life with your puppy.
Why Puppy School?
The first few months of a puppy's life are incredibly important. This is when they are learning about the world around them and developing the skills they'll carry into adulthood.
Getting things right at this stage can help prevent common behavioural problems later on and set your puppy up for success.
Our aim isn't just to teach your puppy a few commands. We want to help you understand your puppy, build a strong bond together and make those early months as enjoyable as possible.
What We'll Cover
Throughout the course we'll cover:
- Puppy socialisation and habituation
- Toilet training
- Bite inhibition and puppy mouthing
- Loose lead walking
- Recall training
- Sit, down, stay, leave it and drop it
- Handling and grooming
- Canine communication and body language
- Managing common puppy behaviours such as chewing, jumping up and nipping
- Positive reinforcement training techniques
- Building confidence and resilience
- Nutrition advice
- Developing a strong relationship with your puppy
How the Course Works
We believe puppies learn best when they're relaxed, having fun and feeling safe.
Classes are based on positive reinforcement and play-based learning, helping puppies build confidence while learning important life skills.
To ensure every puppy and owner gets plenty of support, class numbers are kept small, with just 4–5 puppies per class.
There is also plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get advice specific to your puppy.

Important Information:
- Puppies must be vaccinated before attending classes.
- Proof of vaccination will be required.
- Puppies must be in good health and free from contagious illness.
